Whitney is a self taught baker who started her professional career in 2013. She attended Iowa State University to pursue art and design and discovered her true passion was combining her love of art with her love of baking. In 2016 she accepted a position with an iconic Des Moines bakery and gained 6+ years experience in the professional cake world and in 2023 decided it was time to follow her dreams and open CAKE BABY. Cake Baby is an in-home bakery located in West Des Moines offering custom cakes, cupcakes and desserts of all kinds. Whitney’s favorite part of her job is being able to be a part of milestone celebrations, birthdays and weddings. Everyone is happier with a piece of cake!
